He was on the original staff that opened Woodland High School in 1997 when he taught Sports Medicine and served as the school’s full-time Certified Athletic Trainer until becoming an administrator. Dr. Dickey is in his 3rd year as Principal at Woodland High School. He has spoken across the State of Georgia at numerous conferences and school systems regarding Positive Behavioral Supports (PBIS) and how it can be successfully implemented within a school/system.

He will celebrate his 24th wedding anniversary with his wife, LaJean, in July (2018) and has 2 daughters, Breanna and Noelle. Breanna is a recent graduate of WHS (now a Senior at Kennesaw State University) and Noelle will be entering the 12th grade here at WHS. He is an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he serves as the President of the United Methodist Men’s group. Dr. Dickey has participated on several Mission Trips with Trinity’s Youth Group. He comes from a Shrimping family and spent his life growing up working the deck of a shrimp boat. Dr. Dickey truly believes that “Relationships” are “THE” foundation and will determine the “Success” of a staff, a school and a school district. Dr. Dickey is excited, honored and feels that it is a privilege to serve as the Principal of Woodland High School. Dr. Dickey looks forward to building upon the Woodland Way tradition as a member of the Wildcat Family. At WHS our Culminating Focus is “23…the Standard for SUCCESS” as we strive to empower our students to succeed. Our Enduring Focus at WHS is “23 or 32…the Result is up to YOU” as we strive to do our best at all times.
