Dr. wes dickey
Dr. Wes Dickey has just completed his 24th year in Education. He has served as a Certified Athletic Trainer/Sports Medicine Instructor, Assistant Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, Associate Principal and is now the Principal of Woodland High School. Dr. Dickey has had 8 years of middle school experience and 16 years at the high school level (21 years has been as a Woodland Wildcat either at Woodland High School or at Woodland Middle School).
He was on the original staff that opened Woodland High School in 1997 when he taught Sports Medicine and served as the school’s full-time Certified Athletic Trainer until becoming an administrator. Dr. Dickey is in his 3rd year as Principal at Woodland High School. He has spoken across the State of Georgia at numerous conferences and school systems regarding Positive Behavioral Supports (PBIS) and how it can be successfully implemented within a school/system.
He will celebrate his 24th wedding anniversary with his wife, LaJean, in July (2018) and has 2 daughters, Breanna and Noelle. Breanna is a recent graduate of WHS (now a Senior at Kennesaw State University) and Noelle will be entering the 12th grade here at WHS. He is an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he serves as the President of the United Methodist Men’s group. Dr. Dickey has participated on several Mission Trips with Trinity’s Youth Group. He comes from a Shrimping family and spent his life growing up working the deck of a shrimp boat. Dr. Dickey truly believes that “Relationships” are “THE” foundation and will determine the “Success” of a staff, a school and a school district. Dr. Dickey is excited, honored and feels that it is a privilege to serve as the Principal of Woodland High School. Dr. Dickey looks forward to building upon the Woodland Way tradition as a member of the Wildcat Family.
